Although
most of the info in this book will be of much use
to anyone interested in rabbits, Lop Rabbits as
Pets is mainly geared toward the pet owner and
small-scale breeder.
The
author, Sandy Crook, is known as "Mother of the Lops," and
she proves that she is rightly named in this wonderful
book about rabbits. Although the title is Lop
Rabbits As Pets, most of the information that
the book contains is applicable to any breed of rabbits.
Mrs.
Crook also thoroughly explains her thoughts on the
disposition of lop rabbits, which, in my opinion,
is the best part of the book.
Lop
Rabbits As Pets covers a wide variety of topics,
including:
- Disposition
of the Lop
- The
Lop as a Pet and Companion Animal
- The
Floppy-Eared Therapist
- Handling
- Housing
- Diet
- Grooming
- Housebreaking
- Harnessbreaking
and Tricks
- Showing
- Tattooing
- Health
Over
100 color photographs are included. While some of
the photos are very beautiful and professional-looking,
others are quite amateurish.
All
in all, this is one of the best rabbit books you
will find out there. I highly recommend it! |
