Young rabbit with diarrhea
Hi:
We just got a young dwarf rabbit. The rabbit looks happy, but he has diarrhea. When I cleaned the area, I noticed an opening and I could see membrane. I'm very worried. Is this normal? |

RE: Young rabbit with diarrhea
That doesn't sound normal to me. I'd contact your vet. Make sure they treat exotics.

RE: Young rabbit with diarrhea
How is your pets appetite? If the animal is still eating is a good sign that the cause of diarrhea is a simple, easy to overcome.

RE: Young rabbit with diarrhea
that's not normal at all. diarrhea can cause death to young rabbit. in fact, most rabbits under 8 weeks old are prone to diarrhea and die because of it. thus, it's very important to buy a rabbit that's 8 weeks old and above.
if your rabbit has diarrhea, take to the vet immediately. if not, give them a lot of hay and fresh water. a small amount of boiled potato with the skins left on can help to relieve this condition All rabbit lovers are my friends but not all my friends are rabbit lovers |
