Hi,

I really need some advice.....i bought two female rabbits about 6months ago..........I thought that one of them may be male and so proceeded to separate them, after a couple of weeks you could see they missed each other so put them back together, only now I have found four baby kits and am unsure how to go on!
we have gently moved all the nest and surrounding hay, bedding etc into a big sized shoe box and also moved mum indoors so they don't get cold, and made a pen for them where it is quiet and warm but not sure when to touch them or if they are being fed? also not sure if I need to check if they are ok or anything. tHREE ARE PINK IN COLOUR AND ONE IS DARK BUT MY HUSBAND HAS ASSURED ME THAT THE DARK ONE HAS ITS DADS COLOURING----IS THIS TRUE!?!?
All new to this and want to do the best job possible but at a bit of a loss and any advice is really appreciated!
Help please.

My bunny is soooo picky! He used to be just fine with the food we gave him, but he's so spoiled now! (He's about a year and a half now. I've had him since he was 3months old). He is very specific on the hay he will eat. He only eats soft hay, if it's too hard, he'll grab it from you and spit it out. This wouldn't be a problem, but I can't find a bag of hay that only has soft pieces. He's eating a brand of Timothy hay right now, and only about 1/5 of the bag has "acceptable" pieces. Same with his pellets. He'll eat the big pellets, but once you get to the bottom of the bag and they start getting smaller, he'll flip his whole bowl over so it falls through the cracks of his cage. I don't know what to do! I know he needs to eat, but I can't keep giving in to him either!
The only thing he wil eat with no problem is lettuce and yogurt treats (neither of which he gets very often). Any ideas of what to do??

We are moving to a house not big enough for his giant penthouse cage. Is there anyway he can live outside? Is there anything we can do to make his home safe outdoors? We live in an area that is pretty cold a good portion of the year but I know wild rabbits can live outside. Can my house bunny adapt? If so, what do I need to do to make this easy for him?
Please respond ASAP as we're moving very soon.
Recently the more domanate rabbit passed away leaving the other. In the last week she has become angry and tends to go for you when you reach into the cage. I have put in to adopt a male rabbit from the RSPCA, but am now worried she will be unsuitable to pair up. Or is she just missing her sister?
Thank you for any help offered!!

I've read that sickness is especially dangerous for bunnies, so I was a little panicked when Bellamy sneezed for the first time. I googled it, and I think he's okay. That's his only symptom. No runny nose, no watery eyes, no labored or rattley breathing. Just a sneeze or two every now and then, and from what I could gather from the info I read, it's probably just an irritant in his environment that's making him sneeze. I use newspapers for his bedding, his litter is Yesterday's News, so I don't think its any of that. Do you guys know of anything that could be bothering him? I don't spray things around the apartment either. Any ideas would be helpful.

I am looking for insight as to why half of my baby bunnies died suddenly. They were born about 3 weeks ago and seemed to be developing well. The mama rabbit, Chip, is a good mother, she is eating and drinking normally and their cage was done up appropriately with a nesting area, lots of bedding, hay, pellets and a water dispenser. All of which have been changed, filled-up and watched over carefully on a daily basis.

Yesterday morning two of the babies died suddenly. Then a third started to look "flat" with squinty eyes rather sunk into its head. It was dead within an hour of looking flat. Of the remaining four babies, two looked round and puffy, like normal, and the other two had started to look deflated with narrowed eyes.

So I put the two healthy-looking ones in a separate cage away from the sick ones. They are only 3+ weeks old, so I was worried about them nursing, but the chance of them all dying from whatever illness had overcome their siblings was high. They are doing fine, eating hay and pellets and drinking lots of water now. Of the two that were sickly, one more died and the remaining one is still alive, although one of its eyes has receded completely. The eye is essentially gone?

I have been using a bowl for water, in addition to the bottle waterer, and all the bunnies in both cages have been drinking a lot. I was shocked at how much water the babies wanted to drink, but they seem to be better and thriving.

So, my question is simply has anyone out there had a similar situation and do you have any idea what illness afflicted my poor baby bunnies? I have been all over the internet researching it, without much luck at an answer. I thought that maybe the mama dried up and they became dehydrated or got an infection or got cold or all of the above? If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.

Thanks,

Anybody ever use this stuff? Know anything about it? My rabbit is 2 years old and eats a lot of paper, and I read that this is good to prevent stomach impaction/hairballs. I'm nervous to give it to him...anyone have any experience with this?

I picked up a girl from a farm on friday which shared a cage for six months with her sister. I decided to go back and get its sister today, and when I put it in the cage tonight the bunny immediately started mounting it repeatedly. I removed the bunny several times and each time I returned the bunny, the other bunny would remount. The bunnies are only six months old, and the farm stated that they had always shared the same cage and had assumed they were girls because they were always very close and never fought. But now I am wondering if I might have a girl and boy bunny pair? Some articles indicate that girls will do this sometimes as well. I am new to the bunny world....any advice out there??? I just know I don't want a litter of bunnies......help!!!
