Great info here
My daughter & I have a pet rabbit (she named him Mr.Bunny!). He was originally going to be a 4-H rabbit but she lost interest in it. Hes now a house bunny and we love him!
About a month ago he started rubbing his chin on things when hes out "exploring" the house. He is healthy & very friendly I just cant figure out what hes doing! He'll be out sniffing something, then rub his chin on it a few times, then he usually bites it or moves along. Doesnt really matter what it is (his cage, a book, whatever he finds "new"). He doesnt do this when he's in his cage, just when hes out exploring. Its not constant, totally random.

Does his chin just itch? Is he just being a showoff? Its nothing medical is it? He is a goof & has a fun personality-maybe its just his new "thing"//

Here he is-
I should add we do have a dog also. Could Mr.Bunny be marking his territory somehow?

The babies' cage has a little private area that is high off the ground where no one can see in. The Daddy bunny's cage is only a foot off the ground and you can see in all sides except for a tiny translucent little igloo in the middle(but you can still see in the door of the igloo and it is translucent so...)

Well anyway, an animal, a dog of some sort, got to Mango's cage the other night. It almost got him. Thank God my baby is okay. Mango wasn't phisically injured, but is kinda tramitized He just finally started eating today(which is a couple of days after the incident) He is SO jumpy and skidish. He won't let me handle him anymore and hides out in his little igloo much more than usual.
Please Help. I don't know what to do
I've heard that even older bunnies (I know 7 months isn't exactly "older" but he's definitely not a kit anymore) can learn to like being handled, but I'm having a difficult time. When he's out romping around my apartment, he'll come up to me and lick me a little, and let me pet him. But he gets terrified when I try to pick him up. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can go about getting him used to the idea of cuddling? Or is this a lost cause?

Luca is an unaltered white male dwarf with a bit of a cheeky attitude. He's discovered that he can hop up onto the couch all by himself. I wouldnt mind this at all, if he wasnt peeing and pooping all over the couch. I drasticly upgraded his cage to an extra-extra large wire dog kennel, and when we did that he stopped going back to his cage to go to the bathroom and all his training seemed to go out the window. We have a large mat that he runs around on, when hes just on there he will go back to his cage on his own (he used to use it as a bathroom too) but since hes discovered the couch he thinks its his new bathroom. Any advice would be wonderful.

I would like some advice on breeding my pet rabbit. I have two females who live together at the moment and would like to get a male at some point in the future to breed with one or both of my females. My question is this: Once one of my females is pregnant, does she have to be removed from the cage and separated from her companion? Also, when the babies have been weaned and removed from her, can she then go back to living with her friend. I am worried that after being separated from her friend for any length of time whilst caring for her young, once reunited that they may start to fight. One last question; If I wanted to keep one of my babies (female), can she live with her mother and her friend or will they fight?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
I am not an expert bunny mom and litter training was not great but I loved her to pieces. The other day I went to the pet store and fell in love with 3 rabbits...all 1/2 dwarf lops. One is a lion head, the other a mini rex and the third ...well he just looks like Thumper! I ended up taking all three home, They are still small only 7 wks old so I am keeping them in one cage...but...I want to make sure they are happy! I don't have that much room in my apt but I will try my best to provide as much space as I can. My question is this. HOW DO YOU LITTER TRAIN 3 BUNNIES? Do they all need their own litter box. They like to cuddle together but they will be running out of room real soon...How many cages do they need or would it be more appropriate to create a gated living space. Please Help ...I want to make my little bunnies happy!

Right now, I can only let him out to run around after I've come home for the nite, but I want to be able to let him run around all the time, but at this point, I know if I left him unsupervised, I know I'd come home to a bald carpet! Does anyone have any tips for how to help him figure out that mommy doesn't want her carpet chewed up?

Last year we bought two N. dwarf female bunnies from a breeder. They were supposedly sisters from the same kit. Eight months later we have discovered that Olivia is actually Oliver! He's been diddling with Estancia and was caught in the act!

We have purchased seperate housing for Estancia but don't know if she is pregnant. Is there a way to tell? How long is a rabbit's gestation? Are there signs to look for? Can anyone suggest a site where we could get "reliable" information and educate ourselves.

We don't want any babies as we are very happy with 2 bunnies and 2 children. Can anyone suggest the best way to get rid of the bunnies if and when they arrive. Will a pet store take them off our hands?

Any information you can give is greatly appreciated!

Hi again everyone, I really value the advice I get on here so I thought I\'d post again on something we\'re debating over right now.

I currently have two rabbits, two mixed breed dwarfs. They are young (around 4 months). They are pets only and will both eventually be neutured when they are old enough (we took the male to the vet last week to be neutured but his right testicle has not descended yet! boo!). My boyfriend and I are responsible bunny owners and I read up on how to best take care of them.

Anyway, this is what I need advice on. We went to a bunny gathering about a month ago where we met a lot of bunny owners and some real cute rabbits, also. One pair of bunnies in particular got along real well with our two rabbits, and they were good looking lops too. I took a bunch of pictures of them. Anyway, about a week ago, the owner of the two bunnies that I liked emailed everyone saying she is moving the beginning of summer and would like to find someone to take on her two rabbits. They are one male and one female, 3 years old and 2.5 years old. They are two lops, kind of on the big side, but very cute. The male is neutured and they both have sweet personalities.

So my question is, how much more of a cost would it be to take on two more adult rabbits? They would all be just pet rabbits. I\'m not rich by any means but I could afford extra food for two more rabbits. I am just mostly concerned about the \'unseen\' costs such as vet care, etc. Also, our rabbits and those rabbits got along well at the bunny gathering, but I\'m assuming there is a possibility they may not get along all the time later. But both pairs are bonded, so I guess we could just keep them seperate if we ever had problems, and let the two pairs out at different times, etc.

Anyway, what do you all think? Any input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks =)

In the pictures, our two bunnies are the little black and white one (our male, Bonbon) and the little white one (our female, Yuki) and the lops are the two bunnies I\'m considering. The white, black and brown one is the male and the caramel one is the female.
