Exclamation Older bunny needs new home -- Massachusetts
I have a bunny, age 9, who needs a new home. I'm making a long-distance move, and don't want to put him thru the stress of moving with me. I don't want to put him up for adoption in a shelter, I prefer to find him a home with someone who is familiar with the needs of an older rabbit. Because of his age, he needs some help with his grooming and with keeping himself clean, which means occasional baths. He's in good health otherwise, and still very much enjoys his veggies, his hay, and especially treats ! and he loves his toys.
We've been together since he was 11 weeks old and I'm worried about how he will adapt to a new home. I always thought that he would make a great candidate for a bonding, so if you have a bunny who needs a mate, my little guy just might be a good choice. He was neutered when he was young, so no worries about putting him with a little girl. And I think that being bonded would help him with the transition to someone new as well.
He's a mixed breed -- his mom was a Satin, his dad was a Dwarf Hotot. He's all black except for a tiny white spot on his chin and on one toe on his right front foot. He's a smaller bunny -- he weighs about 6.5 pounds.
He's litter-trained, though with age, his habits are not as good as they once were.
He loves to be petted, and will tolerate being held, but only for a limited time. He's not really the cuddly type, but he's very loving in his own way. Because he trusts me, I can do anything to him and he's very good about the baths and having his nails clipped. It may take him time to adjust to someone else doing those things for him, but he's pretty laid-back overall. He has a "been there, done that" sort of attitude. He's a good boy.
Of great importance to me is that he live INDOORS. He's never lived in a cage, he has his own area in my apartment, and I would like to see him continue to live in that manner, so if you have a "bunny-proofed" room, that would be excellent !

Most importantly, we live in the Boston suburbs (about 25-30 miles west of the city). If you would like to meet my boy, or know someone who would be interested in him, please get in touch.

Thanks!
