New bunnies-how do i protect them from prey
I am a beginner at this and am intending putting the hutch outside but have real worries about how to best protect them from predators?? I will keep them in doors until i feel confident about leaving them out overnight. Put them in sheltered part of garden today and they seemed happy, its the overnight part i worry about. I think i have became a rabbit geek in less than 48 hours!
All advice welcome Thanks |

RE: New bunnies-how do i protect them from prey
It depends on what type of preditors live in your area. Make sure your hutch is inside of a secure fence. A dog kennel works well. If preditors in your area can climb fencing, you will need to cover the top of the fence with wire. If you only have to worry about birds of prey, like hawks, you can get by with bird netting. It is a good idea to lay wire down on the ground and secure it to the fence to prevent animals from digging under the fence and getting inside.
