how much do you feed?
hello everyone,
i have two mini lops babies. they are still caged together and they share feed and water. the feed bowl is not a bowl but one of those side of the cage feeders. my question is...do you put a certain amount in the feeder or just always keep it full. i am asking because my rabbits eat non stop! i am not kidding, they eat sooo much. they are 4 weeks and about 5-6 weeks old. what should i do?

RE: how much do you feed?
Kristen,

At their current age you should let them eat as much as they want of pelleted feed. DO NOT give them any fresh vegetables like carrots or lettuce or you'll give them a diarreha that could kill them.

Once they get about 3 mo. old then cut them back to 6 ounces of pellets per day. Mini Lops should be at a weight of between 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 pounds as Seniors (meaning 6 months old and up).

Also you'll need to separate them somewhere between 8-10 weeks of age max.

Hope this helps you out. Feel free to ask more questions if needed.Smile

Good Luck!
Pat
