Chewing up the garden.

Snowy has taken up a new hobby of chewing up the garden. She is just ripping up the grass + roots with her teeth and leaving it all in a pile of mess. She seems to be doing it in areas that have gone dryer and browner than the rest of the grass.

Any ideas why she is doing this?
