breeding problems
I have four nz whites, all about 1 year old. I've read everything i can get my hands on to get these rabbits to breed, and no success.
They weigh fine, about 9 pounds each (buck and does)
the buck(s) mount, does aren't receptive.
tried forced matings, bucks don't fall off doe or even mount sometimes
does genitals are always pale, never dark purple or red.
do i need to check the does more often for color of genitals?
the bucks genitals are formed correctly , decended testes, etc.
can anyone help?
thanks so much,
frustrated--Susan

RE: breeding problems
This is where early bonding should have come in handy. If they started out together before hormones kicked in it would have been easier. You HAVE to put the doe inside the buck's cage. Wait a few days between every failed attempt, and just watch carefully. If they seem to fight (almost looks the same as mating in some cases) immediately remove the doe and mate her with a different buck. Hope i helped.
