my doe had 6 babies just over 4 weeks ago. well somebody let the male out when the female was out (teenage daughter denies.) well there are now what looks like 3 new born babies in the bed part of the hutch. the male and female were only out together for a very short time before i realized. I did not think they had mated but obviously had. i did not supply a nest box. the older babies are still in the shed. Is it ok to just leave them to it? Mother seems happy.
Remove the older babies. At 4 weeks, they will be OK. Add 20% Old Fashioned oatmeal to their pellets and make sure they have hay 2-3 times per week.

Not to sound ominous or anything, but the older kits could decided to chew on the newborns. I wouldn\'t take the chance.

thanks. looks like there are another 6 babies not just 3. someone else sugested mixing the oatmeal with a bit of watered down cows milk for the older kits. would this be ok? the little monsters got out earlier and have been haveing a fine time eating the grass. took some persuading to get them back in the run.
well wow thats good, my rabbit is due in 2 weeks and im not sure what to do , cuz last time my bun ate its legs off the bunnys. do anyof u know what to do?
The cow\'s milk is not necessary. Honest.

Cody...

Some does do that. Sometimes it happens only once. Sometimes it is repeated. Make sure your doe has a very good diet and is not disturbed during kindling. If she repeats this behavior DO NOT rebreed her!
