I have checked the nest box properly today. there are 6 babies not 5. 4 grey 1 black and 1 albino. the doe has been nervous of me so i have been giving her treats and she is comfortable with me looking in the nest but i didnt look properly until today. They are all lively and so cute. When will they start coming out and when will they be ready for separation? is there anything i need to do? also when can i remove the nest box? they wont fit for much longer. i am asking around to find homes for them. the pet shop offered but why should they profit from the mistake they made. (they sold the pets as 2 females)i would rather give them away.
The kits will open their eyes around day 10 and should stay in the nest box until about 3 weeks (though you\'ll start to see them hop in and out a bit before that).
You can wean the bunnies anytime after 5 weeks, though I don\'t recommend letting them go to new homes until 6 weeks at the earliest. Bucks should be separated from the does between 8 & 10 weeks.

Just watch who you give them to. Some people will use them for snake food. I know they have to eat also and I myself do not have a problem with that but some people may? When people see free also they may grab and go on an impulse and not realize all that is involved in taking proper care of a baby rabbit. Glad to hear they are doing well. thanks. i am only asking friends and family. i have a 13 year old whos friends are interested but i am asking the parents before i let them go. the rabbits were originally bought for my 13 year old but guess who looks after them. if i end up haveing to advertise then i will charge a small amount and ask lots of questions. cant wait to see them hopping about. i could see 1 with eyes a little open yday. 11 days old tday. i think my doe wants me to look in so she can have a treat. she keeps sniffing at my fingers.
