My (dwarf hotot) doe is s\'possedly pregnant and due this week Thursday! This is the doe I\'ve had trouble breeding -so this is her last attempt. If it doesn\'t work then she will remain the \"Charmer\" that she is and live a life of luxury and being pampered and just a showgirl!
I brought her in the other day and did the same thing with her as I did with my last doe -that was hugely successful. I put 2 cages together and made one a nursery with straw and her nest box and I\'m letting her rough it all up and make a nest. The other cage is her \'sitting room\' where her feed/water is.
Keeping all crossables crossed that she does well. I think she is very pregnant and a shame if she doesn\'t care for them.
She is really enjoying her new \'house\'. Smile I can\'t wait.....
Friday...8am...She\'s in the box! Smile
I so hope that everything goes well...I\'ll keep the crossables crossed as well. Smile

Monday, I had a Mini Satin have 12 kits! One was a peanut which I humanely put down, but the 11 remaining are looking good - all getting milk. (Don\'t know how, but they are smooth and have full tummies.)

Good luck again...

Well, I guess that\'s the balance of life. Congratulations on all those babies. I\'m so happy for her (& you!)
Charmer had 2 kits both are stillborn. That\'s it for her. Mid-City Rabbit Show tomorrow out here in Yankton, guess I\'d better bring my checkbook.
So sorry things didn\'t work out. I know your pain. We retired our Midnight this April after a 2nd litter with only one survivor. Our Hopper had her first litter in August. Only one kit and it didn\'t survive the morning. Not sure if we\'ll try her again in the spring or not.
Sorry about your loss...It\'s always hard to lose them...
On my way out to the rabbit show I checked her and she had another stillborn on the wire...not good.
I did buy 2 new bunnies at the show! That\'s always good! LOL
My daughter got a \'pet\' sport dwarf hotot she named \"Golbin\" and I found a wonderful white NZ Buck, I named him \"Casper\"! Hopefully, he and my big Lacy girl will hit it off when the time is right *grin*.
He won second place Saturday in his class!
well yea i have a mini rex and she had 3 babies the smallest died first . then when i woke up the next morning one other one was dead and the other one that was left had no legs. the mother had eaten the legs off along with her tail. it made me so upset because im 15 and love my rabbits as if they were my kids. but next littler im going to keep a close eye on them. i think she didnt have the motherly instincts because she was still young herself
How old was your Mini Rex? Is she your only doe? Watch her carefully as this may be a bad habit that she will continue. If you have other does, I would suggest breeding at the same time and transferring the kits as soon as they\'re born. That way, you\'ll get SOMETHING out of her.
