Do you think it is selfish to just have one female rabbit by herself? I recently rescued one and although I try to give her alot of attention I worry she is lonely for other rabbits? I really do not want anymore since I have chosen to keep this one indoors. I have cats and she wants to play with them but she is not potty trained and so I can\'t leave her out with them.
Most of my rabbits especially the females dont like other rabbits.rabbits bond with you better if they dont have a companion.work on getting her litter trained soo she can get out of her cage.bluebird
I have two litter boxes in her crate. She poops in them both and sleeps in one of them but she holds her urine and the only time she goes is when I let her out of her cage and then she jumps into the bathtub to urinate. Any suggestions on how to get her going in the litter box? I have newspaper in the box.
Is the newspaper shredded? Try putting some hay in the box for her to munch on.
Our rabbit, Petey, trained pretty easily, but when he would pee other than the box, we would just put the box where he was littering and it seemed to reinforce. Maybe if you put the box in the tub, it\'ll help her get the idea??

Also, as far as only having one, I was worried about that too, but Petey is now 1 1/2 and he seems very happy with just our human family. We do provide stuffed animals (with low pyle so he won\'t munch), and he acts like they are his babies. Harplady told me a long time ago that w/o another bunny around, we would be Petey\'s companion and it is true. He jumps up on my daughter\'s bed in the evening (almost ritually) and that is HIS time that he chooses he wants love. Its the funniest thing.
Yes the newspaper is shredded. She again held her pee all night until I put her in the bathroom this a.m. and then she went in the bathtub! Smile I even thought to try taking everything out of the potty box so it was more like the tub and now she wants to just sit in it! She\'s a complicated little bunny! She doesn\'t drink water on her own either still. I will try putting a little stuffed toy in with her for company! She loves to be out running around but the minute I let her out she will go to a certain corner and pee on my carpet which is just not ok so she ends up in the bathroom or her large hutch unfortunately.
If you are going to get another bunny, I recommend
another female. Although males go along well, I heard
that two females, or sisters go along the best.
I\'ll definetely keep that in mind donnery! I think for now I\'m going to just stick with the one. She seems really happy. Her new habitat came via UPS yesterday and I put it together last night..it\'s 47\" long and she\'s got alot of room to play!
Pairing males together is not a good idea unless they are both neutered. Bonding rabbits can be tricky, as with other pets. They don\'t always like each other no matter what their sex is.

Savarabbit, do you have a picture of the new habitat? It sounds very nice.
Here is a link to the one that I purchased. I really like it because it\'s on wheels and I can move it if I choose to. Since my bun is only 4 lbs there is alot of room for her in it. She hasn\'t changed in weight in the 3 weeks I have had her so I assume she must be full grown and a dwarf bunny?
