Is it normal for wild rabbits to play with paper and other things they can drag into thier cage? Three times I\'ve caught Blaze pulling things into his cage to play/chew with or on
I don\'t know about wild rabbits but our Rex rabbits love to chew on things.... so we put in wood or empty toilet paper rolls for them to chew on. We also will stick hay in the toilet paper roll. We\'ve also put certain cat toys in their cages too.
Oh they love to play with things. Mine like papertowel rolls, one likes to shred paper if I put it under her or small boxes. You can buy small dog toys, rubber balls and such. Just watch they aren\'t eating them!
Too bad I didn\'t ask this a week ago I just threw 2 good heavy duty paper cob things away they were off the tinfoil roll I have some of those plastic ball things with the bells in them though I buy those in bulk for my birds
You can also put in small pices of 2x4\'s or leftover wood scraps. We\'ve been doing alot of construction with the chicken coop and kennel and hubby cuts them chewable hock boards and small pieces. Smile
I save paper rolls (those tin foil ones are good!) in a bag in the pantry. My young rabbits aren\'t sure about them -but once they get that urge to chew they will but the older ones chew\'em up and carry them around.
I don\'t buy toys usually -but if I do, I look in the dollar stores they had a huge selection of puppy stuff the other day! Smile
I don\'t know about wild rabbit, but my house rabbit loves chewing paper Toungue. Any time i go to write something he begs me to give him a bit. Any time you leave any paper on the ground he loves to chew it. Mines also love to chew the toilet roll tubes. I asked the vet is it ok to let him chew paper and cardborad and she said it was normal.
