Hello!!! I have been breeding pygmy goats for 11 years and as my passion has always been with my goats, I am now learning about bunnies. My son bought one at our county fair, then we bought 2 at the state fair, so we are learning very rapidly what bunnies are all about!! Ths is bringing on SEVERAL questions, which I am finding out slowly but surely, but with any animal and breeding and care, the questions may NEVER end.
I\'ve looked here a few times and it seems there is a nice pool of knowledgable people here that are willing to help new people out!!
Through my own years with goats, I\'ve always strived for happy, healthy and quality animals and would like to continue the trend with my sons \'new\' adventure. As I will try to just help and mentor my son, we\'ll see if I don\'t get attached myself!!!

Be careful! My 2 little girls brought in a wild bunny one day that our cat had caught. We tried to bring it back to good health with no luck and the bunny died. Naturally, my girls were devastated and their dad promised them another bunny. That started with 2 Mini Rex, then we bought 2 Holland Lops. Then the 2 Mini Rex does were introduced to a nice buck and a month later we had 12 more bunnies. Several died and we sold others and kept 3. We later purchased another Mini Rex that died 2 days later and then purchased 1 more Mini Rex buck (to go with all those does) which brings us to 8 bunnies right now. But since fall is coming with cooler temps, my children are ready to start breeding again and I don\'t know how many bunnies that will add. So needless to say, I\'m just as attached to all these bunnies as my kids now and so is my husband. So I said be careful because you\'ll soon be all about bunnies just like us! Welcome to the board...
He, He!! I\'m trying really hard NOT to get attached, but I am seeing that it may just end up happening!!! They are sooo sweet and affectionate and very smart too!!!
My son put a harness on his holland buck and that bunny just had the time of his little life hopping and digging around the barn!! I had to take the picture of it!!
Fudge romping about the barn
Hi and Welcome!
You can\'t help but fall in love, rabbits are awesome.
I have a Mini Rex buck who is 4 1/2 years old, he is the sweetest rabbit. He was my daughters 4-H project when he was a bunny. Then he grew up and I took over his care. Or was it she grew up. LOL either way, he is my boy now.
We have recently purchased an almost 3 month old Mini Rex Doe as well as a trio of pedigreed Jersey Wooly bunnies. I have my heart set on a tri color Mini Rex Doe but have had no luck finding one. (YET)
Again, Welcome to the forums, ask all the questions you can, somebodies sure to have an answer for you.
N2Rabbits,
We have a blue and fawn tri colored Mini Rex buck and will be breeding this fall. We are hoping for more tri\'s because my daughter likes them. My son and I are a little partial to castors ;- ) We live in Northeast Oklahoma if that\'s not too far from where you live and we\'d be happy to sell you a tri doe if we end up with one.
TrestleCreek,
I love the picture of your bunny in the barn!
I was raised in Oklahoma but not there now, I\'m in NC. That\'s to bad.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!
