my californian buck is going through a major molt he is losing hair all along his hind quarters hes acting better since i put a fan on him but his hair is still not growing back do you think hes got a hair ball or what i\'ll try and post a pic of one of his bald spots also hes been wormed and de liced

Need more info- all rabbits have an annual molt and this is the time of year for it- is he eating and otherwise acting okay-?
hes eating but does kind of act slugish he just lays around in his cage and never gets up when i open his cage his bald spots are dry
A severe molt will often result in depressed activity of the rabbit. Brush him frequently to speed him through the molt. Let him out to run on the ground for about 15 minutes a day. This will perk him up and also improve his appetite. Make sure to give him good quality grass hay frequently as this helps keep his gut moving and can help prevent hair block.

hes eating fine its just thats hes sluggish and i can\'t get him to grow back his hair and i don\'t really have any where to let him run because my rabbit barns close to the goats and the 2 gaurd dogs from that barn can not be trusted around any thing that moves close to the ground they always go after the cats and there very fast and i don\'t know what to do could i just give him some alfalfa hay
Don\'t give him alfalfa hay - Timothy or grass only. There is plenty of alfalfa in the pellets already. He doesn\'t need the extra calcium. The fiber is what he needs to prevent woolblock in case of a severe molt.
I\'m concerned about the bare patches. Even with a severe molt (often brought on my stress), you should see signs of new hair replacing that which was shed. How was he deloused? (Mites also cause hair loss.) You might try an Ivomec injection (.01 cc/lb. of weight - a 10 lb. rabbit would get 1 cc.). Ringworm can also cause hair loss, but you haven\'t described any crusty-type sores which leads me away from that diagnosis.
