OK, my name is Pam, just pursued a mini lop, she is beautiful and a snuggler. Rosie is her name, unless my grandson names her when he meets her today. Questions I have even after I have read articles.
I have her in a cage, wire bottom, I put a piece of carpet on 1/2 of the cage taking up 2 corners, one corner her water , one corner is her litter box. the litter box has the carefresh bedding in it. the bottom of the cage is newpaper. does this sound like a good set up. right now she wants to just sit in the litter box. Is this just a security thing till she gets comfortable in her new home. pleas someone help me get that warm and cosy that i am headed in the right direction in being a house bunny mom.
My rabbits have a solid bottom cage and they like to rest in their litter boxes, so I doubt that it has anything to do with the type of floor. Some rabbits are fine with carpet, while others chew carpet and this could cause a blockage of the digestive system, which can be big problems for your rabbit. Rabbits like to rip up paper just for entertainment, so if you don\'t want a big mess, you might check into E-Z mats at (http://www.Rabway.com). Make sure your rabbit has plenty of hay to chew on at all times to keep her teeth from over growing. I hope this helps.
