I think I\'ve seen a post or two on this subject, but can\'t remember..... Why all the sudden, one year after we\'ve had Petey, and 7 months after he\'s been neutered, is he beginning to pee right outside his cage on the carpet?

He hits the same spot or right around it anyway. His cage is cleaned every day. I\'ve tried putting his box right there to remind him to go in the box; I\'ve tried sprinkling pepper there as a deterrent, and now I\'m limiting out of cage time.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
I have been having this problem lately with one of my cats urinating outside the litter box. We got a new dog that has not been socialized with cats and my boy Boots is quite upset about it. I also had a dog once that decided she was no longer house broken when my exhusband and I were going through divorce. Are there some changes in your household that could be upsetting Petey?
Can\'t think of a thing unless he\'s noticed that we are spending a little more time outside than usual (since its summer). He chooses to do it, however, only in the evening, which is when we are in the house and he is out of the cage for \"supervised\" play.

If I didn\'t know better, I\'d think the vet \"missed\" during his neutering operation because there is little positive change in Petey\'s behavioral tendencies, ie., growling, chewing, peeing, etc. He is just a year though, so I\'m probably jumping the gun a little. Patience is a virtue, I know...
