OK, this is one of those stories that I always said wouldn\'t happen to me or my rabbits. But of course I was wrong.

We\'ve had Cloud since she was a month old. My son decided he was going to keep her as his pet and not use her as a breeder. No problem, he takes great care of her and she is a sweetheart. Popcorn was born to our Midnight back in April and was the only survivor out of a litter of 4. My boys couldn\'t bear to part with Pop, so we kept \"her\". Yes, this where it gets interesting. I was very sure Popcorn was also a doe and since \"she\" had been around Cloud since she was 10 days old, I allowed them to share a hutch.

About a month ago I thought they were starting to play to rough and split them up. Cloud had just turned 6 months. I figured she was getting near breeding age and was just moody. Well, this morning we found Cloud gathering every spare piece of straw in her hutch and building a nest. So my son gave her more hay which Cloud quickly added to the nest. This evening she started lining it with fur. When the nest building started I gave Popcorn a closer look. And I\'m sure you guessed it, Popcorn is a buck.

I never would have thought it possible for him to have fathered a litter at 2 1/2 months old. But he seems to take after his dad. Do I have any worries about the kits considering how young the dad is? Cloud is 7 months old, so I\'m sure she\'ll be fine. I\'ll keep you posted on the upcoming events.

PS - sorry this was so long.
I think the age of the buck doesnt really matter much.babies should be in seperate cages at 8 weeks because they can breed as early as 3 months as you already know.maybe your buck can come over to give mine some lessons.bluebird
His dad is the best! Thumper has fathered 4 litters in the last year. The only doe that did not have a litter after being bred to Thump was Cloud, who is now pregnant by Thumper\'s son, Popcorn. How\'s that for ironic.
