the thing is that my pet rabbit (Random) growls at me when i pick her up to get her out of her hutch she then ,when im holding her, hides her head in between my arm and the side of my stomach its really weird she licks my face when i hold her and shes not hiding her head.
p.s i jst found out that my rabbit is a male so swap her with he and she he
A lot of rabbits don\'t like to be picked up out of their cage, thus the grunting. That\'s their territory. Petey hates it. I always let him come out on his own.
Sometimes too if you have an aggressive rabbit in the cage it is easier to have a cage that has a top lid. Sometimes they are more threatened when you open the cage door and \'reach in\' at them. There natural instinct is to \'protect\'. With the top lid you are more like coming down on them and not \'at\' them.
Or do like Peteysfriend said -let them come out on their own if you have the time.

Our two house rabbits do not like to be reached in at. But if we open the door and sit there a minute, they hop over and out into our laps or waiting arms. Or we just leave the door open during playtime for them to go in and ot at will.
thanx 4 the advise but if i jst open the hutch door to let him jump out i will never catch him again or the cat will jmp in so i hav to reach in to get him
Try putting a box or crate up to the door and let him jump in on his own. Then take him to a safe place to let him come out so he sees there is nothing to be afraid of. And you aren\'t sticking your hands in on him.

When I have an unhappy rabbit or one that needs to be treated (and I don\'t have the time for it to come out) I take a kitchen towel and kind of drape it over their head and tuck it under thier body and pick them up this way. This way they can\'t see ya. Kinda like putting blinders on a horse.

thats some good advice ill try the towel techneic plus ma rabbit is afraid of pretty much every thing so the box or crate idea most likly wont work wif him
