hello all you bunny lovers,

hi, my names christian...recently adopted my browned furred friend named fiona...we saved her (literally) from the crockpot....i have recently become aware that her time before we saved her was spent being \"loose\" with all the young male rabbits...i love her and forgive her, but now she is pregnant, and i am scared....i never intended on breeding rabbits (my past three rabbits were male) or having one get pregnant...first, any special diet for an expecting mother (she is always craving ice cream and t-bone steaks)...second, i have been reading about nesting boxes...could someone send me a picture of a fully functional box so i can get to building it...she looks to be about 3 weeks into the pregnancy (we\'ve had her about the same amount of time)...

thanks for your help, and thanks for all the great advice...

First of all let me say that Fiona will most likely be fine and she does all the hard work. She\'ll build the nest and line it with fur when she knows it\'s time. Our nest boxes are built from ply wood and the back door opens for us to check on things. Others build theirs with an open top. The size of the nest box does depend on the size of you doe. What type of rabbit if Fiona and about how big is she?

You\'ll get a lot of help on this board. Good luck!
thanks for the reply...fiona is what looks to be a lilac breed (face and body wise) but more likely a rex...she has a kangaroo shaped face (she\'s from australia) and weighs about 3 pounds right about now...i was really looking to get a peak at what the nest should look like, but having trouble locating a pic of one...i am hoping she kicks into mommy mode soon...
