Hi everyone! I have been reading a lot on bunny behaviour and body language. Mr Wonder Buns is a 8 week old Flemish Giant and he is sooo sweet! He doesn\'t mind the kids petting him, in fact he snuggles up to the 8 year hyperactive boy... this is saying a lot for a baby bunny! However, Mr Wonder Buns has started something new to me, (not the kids) when I am holding him, he\'ll rub his head under my chin and against my neck.. then he turns and scratches/digs really fast at my shoulder!!! What the heck is this all about?? I can\'t find anything in any of my resoucres, I think it may be a dominace thing, because he has not put out any indiction before that, that would indicate he would like to be left alone. What do you think? He\' still very sweet, just it took me by suprise when he did it. (twice now) Wink
We have a female rabbit that does the same thing. She does it while sitting on our laps. I\'m not sure why she does this, but I\'ve also wondered if it was a dominance thing because she is extremely bossy. She had kits a couple of months ago and we even noticed her doing it with them as they got older. Needless to say, we moved the kits out of her cage. None of our other rabbits does it as often as she does. I would like to know why this happens too. Maybe it\'s just a rabbit thing.

my female rabbit does the same except with towels and pillows shes never had any babies and shes not bossy its quiet confusing
Along with Smiley we have 2 other females that share a rather large cage (one is one of Smileys babies,Gracie, and the other was Smileys friend
Josie, when we got them) and Josie does that also. She has never had babies but boy will she try her skills at burrowing into your stomach. Gracie has never done it yet. They also on occaison will dig out their litter boxes too. I think its just instinctual for them to dig. But boy do I stongly dislike finding empty litter boxes.
Sounds like he\'s marking his territory. The males will do that more than females. They will rub their scent on a particular item. If you notice when you put a new item in his cage he is \'approving\' it. Smile
