I am looking for info on the genetic abnormality split penis. I know it is a DQ from showing
I know you do not want to breed a rabbit with it. I know it affects fertility
Is it passed on by the doe( Dam) or the buck( sire)? I think I have a young jr with it.
Split penis (or hypospadia) is a condition where the urethra does not close all the way in males (it can happen to people too) during a point in embryonic development.

There is strong evidence that it is hereditary though environmental insults (viruses, chemicals, etc. can possibly be a cause). Current studies suggest that this condition may be passed on by the doe rather than the buck.
