Sorry but I have another question I have Dutch rabbits that have been bred but it has only been 4 days and they act like they are trying to build nest and I have some that have never been with a male doin the same thing is there a reason I they are doin this the temp in the rabbit house is at the hottest 70 thanks for the help
Brad
Did you put a nest box in already? After 4 days, that would be too soon. The box shouldn\'t go in until 28 days after breeding. If they are pulling hair, that is a puzzle as false pregnancy will cause this, but doesn\'t result in fur pulling until 17-18 days following the breeding or being ridden by another doe.
How long have you owned these does? Is it possible they were bred before you got them? Were they housed with other does which could have resulted in a false pregnancy?

I have not given a nest box and the person we got the does from said there is no way she had been with male or female for over a month but I have bunnys pullin hair all over the place and none should be I will kep lookin everyday. Thanks Brad
Well...does don\'t pull fur for GP, so either we have a pseudopregnancy situation or the real thing.

I will let you know should I give them a nest box just to be sure I am gone 24 hrs at a time I work for the fire dept. dont want the kids finding the babbys on the wire and haveing to dal with that
I probably would to be safe. If it is a pseudopregnancy, then it won\'t hurt anything. If it\'s the real deal, you might save some bunnies. Leave the nest boxes in for a week. If nothing happens, take them out and replace them on day 28 following the breedings you know about.
Don\'t put them back in with the buck like some suggest 2 weeks after the day you bred them. See if you can teach yourself to palpate the does. (Actually, if you palpate them now, you could feel if there were term kits in there...) I have an article on palpation on the Oregon League of Rabbit & Cavy Breeders Website you can access...

Could the excess fur be from molting? I know all my rabbits are right now. The fur is truly flying in our barn.

At first I thought it was pseudopregnancy till I realized it was all of them (even my buck). And their coats are beautiful and sleek again, they\'ve lost the bushy winter coats. Their colors seem brighter too.
I was just out with the rabbits and i have a buck with a big hair ball inhis cage also itcould be i am going to leave the nest box in 3 more days that should be about a week
