Someone on here suggested freezing a plastic bottle of water and putting it in the cage for those hot days and my rabbit and I want to thank whoever it was that suggested this. My little guy LOVES to lay against the frozen bottle when it\'s hot outside. I always felt bad about them being outside when it was warm (even though I\'m in NH, it does get hot here in the spring and summer) and always gave him fresh, cold water to drink but I never knew how else to help keep him cool. His hutch is in the shade but when there isn\'t any breeze to flow through his hutch, it can get rather warm in there. So thanks again for the great suggestion!
I also run an extention cord from my garage and mount a fan on my hutch for a nice breeze. I tried tarps for shade, but they hold the heat. I put up a cargo tarp which seems to work better than other tarps. It is a mesh tarp which allows a little air flow and doesn\'t hold the heat as much.
