I am new to the rabbit world my daughter is getting in to showing Dutch rabbits and we would like to know how to tell if the Doe is ready to take a Buck what do I look for or just hit and miss? thanks for your time and help

It\'s a little of both, really.

Does are usually more receptive when the vulva appears a deep pink and appears somewhat swollen, however, I have had does who physically appear receptive just carry on in the most virtuous manner.

Some tips...

• Stand and watch when you place the doe in the buck\'s cage
• Try putting the doe in at least twice a day until bred - morning and evening
• Once the doe has been bred, return her to the buck\'s cage in one hour - this helps increase conception and litter size.
• Be persistent
