Hi I am a fairly new bunny owner and I have a mini rex that we do not know for sure if she is a she or a he. Could this be her time? You know her cycle or her heat cycle or something? Do bunnies do this? or is she sick? Could it be something she ate? She was in the back yard for a little while today and she is eating radish leaves. She really seems to love them. Please help I am really worried about her. She is acting fine nothing seems different except for the red pee. Only one puddle noticed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hi,male and female rabbits sometimes pee red.it is caused by something they ate but not anything to worry about.bluebird http://bunnyhillrabbitry.tripod.com/
Bunnies don\'t have heat cycles per se. There is no noticeable discharge. They are induced ovualtors. In other words, they release eggs upon mating or riding or being ridden by other does, though there are times when rabbits are more receptive to mating than others.

The red urine is normal. It is thought to be linked to the consumption of feed or forages containing tannin and/or beta carotene, though some rabbits that eat this diet will show red urine and others eating the exact same thing will not. It is nothing to worry about.

As an aside, you might want to consider getting your doe spayed. Rabbits kept exclusively as pets do better when neutered - emotionally and healthwise. You as an owner will be much happier too.
