My little guy is now approx. 9 weeks old. I have had him for about 5 weeks and he was trained after about a week to the litterbox. Nothing has changed (but his age) and in the last week he has decided to urinate outside of his box. I cleaned his cage thoroughly and moved his litterbox to the corner that he started urinating in, but that didn\'t solve the problem. So today I got a second litterbox (since he seems to enjoy sleeping in the old one now instead of using it) and have just noticed that he is now urinating in between the two boxes. Help!!! I was so excited when he litterbox trained so quickly. Why might he change all of a sudden when nothing else in his enviroment has changed? He is still too young to neuter right?
what breed is your bunny and how much does it wiegh my moms a vet and she said that you want to nueter bunnys before they reach breeding age which is 5 months for a meat rabbit ( a rabbit that reaches a wieght of 5 pounds at the age of 6 months ) if you have a dwarf rabbit you would want to nueter him at 5-6 months i would say that your bunny is probably ready to be nuetered and he will probably improve in his litter bx use after you have this procedure done
He\'s a Dutch crossed with I don\'t know what. He\'s probably about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds now, but he is only approx. 9 weeks of age which I think is still too young to neuter. As of yesterday, I also discovered that he has now decided to leave his droppings next to my daughter\'s toybox (which he hasn\'t done until now either). I feel like I am back at square one with him and training.
I think your problem is the age of the bunny.I dont start to litter train untill 8 weeks or more.bluebird
Unfortunately, rabbits do leave pellets everywhere. It has nothing to do with the rabbit itself its not a \'bad habit\' -it is his age. He is young and adding another litter box may further confuse him. He has decided that the litter box is making a nice bed for him. Maybe in one box put wood shavings or straw this way he won\'t want to do his thing where he sleeps. He is so young give him time.
i havnt trained my rabbit to a litter box it always poos and other in its house. he/she is aprox 1 year old.no matter what we do it never poos and other any where weve tried to take its house away but it holds it in untill it gets its house back
