My rabbit, which is six years old, was diagnosed with pneumonia which the vet said would be difficult to cure. But after he had five shots of antibiotics he improved a lot. Now the problem with him is he has stopped eating completely. I have brought some liquid recovery food which I feed him through syringe which he doesn’t like. I can’t see him in such a bad state.

Please recommend if there are any treatments to stimulate the rabbit’s appetite.
Dear Albert-

Does your rabbit have a favorite type of hay or greens? Alfalfa hay, a slice of Red Delicious Apple or Banana, or greens such as cilantro, parsley, or carrot tops (in moderation) or Orchard grass is usually pretty appetizing to them. Are you using the Anise flavor Critical Care? Oxbox came out with a new flavor- Apple and Banana flavor seems to be more appealing. I know it is tedious task to syringe feed your rabbit, but it must be done to keep their gastro intestinal track moving and the Oxbow Critical Care products are more dietarily balanced, so I encourage you to be patient and persistant.
