I got my little polish dwarf 2months ago and i had him litter trained. Then i got a netherland dwarf and ever since shes been around my little boy hasnt been using the litter box as well. Everytime they go to the bathroom i scoop it up and put it in their box... i dont know how else to do it. I heard rabbits go in the same spot, so im trying to keep it in that corner. Ive been doing this since day one but it doesnt seem to be working. Yes, theyre using the litter box, but theyre also going all over the rest of the cage too. What do i do?
This is just a guess, but I suspect that since you got the new rabbit, your polish dwarf feels he needs to mark his territory. Are they sharing the same cage?
Thats what i was thinking too. Yeah, theyre in the same cage.
How do i re-litter train him?
Also since she\'s a female, he might have the more instinct to mark his territory. Neutering could help his liter habbits (but you want to breed.. so..) and then if you decide not to breed then you don\'t have to worry about the doe being bred.

If he does go outside his liter box (pee) take a cloth and dab it so enough urine has been soaked in the paper towel then put it under his liter in his box. This helps if he\'s going outside the literbox to mark his territory. Also make sure you clean the spot where he goes to the bathroom well so he doesn\'t go to mark the same spot again. Depending on the surface, you could use vinegar.
thanks Smile
i normally just get a spoon and pick it up and put it in the litter box. i hardly ever find them peeing other than in the box tho.. they just crap EVERYWHERE =S
