I have two little dwarf rabbits and they\'ve always lived inside. I\'ve just been given a cage for when i seperate them. The only problem is, its an outside cage. I heard that once a rabbit has lived inside, you cant just move them to living outdoors or theyll die. It is summer, and I\'d only have to seperate them until the babies can be weaned from their mother. So they\'d only be living outside during the summer time while its still warm out.
Moving them outside will not kill them.put them in a well shaded area.if the temperature gets above 80 i get a plastic pop bottle full of water and freeze it.the rabbits lay against it to keep kool.bluebird
Thats good to know Smile thanks
What if i decide to keep them outside... what will it be like for winter?
Rabbits actually handle the cold better than heat. We add extra hay to their hutches during the winter and cover one end for extra warmth and protection. We moved ours outside in July and they adapted as the weather changed. The biggest problem/concern is their water bottles freezing. But we just check it much more frequently.
Thanks so much! Smile
Nope, changing a rabbit from indoors to outdoors won\'t kill them.. probably would only affect them if you change them from a hot house to freezing cold outdoors, but a slight change in enviroment and temperature won\'t harm him. I had a rabbit that used to live indoors then when we moved we had to get her to live outdoors. She probably lived outdoors for probably around 6 years.

Are you planning on neutering him? This might help, then you won\'t have to worrry about after the babies are weaned to get your doe pregnant.
after one litter im getting him neutered
thanks so much everyone Smile
