Not everytime, but you need to assume (for the sake of the rabbit) that conception did take place. To hope otherwise and do nothing would be irresponsible.
Better to be proactive, and if you don\'t have a reliable person that can palpate the doe 10-14 days after the possible breeding, provide a nest box on day 28 and leave it with the doe until at least 35 days have passed from the day of breeding. Only then, if, after this time, the doe has not kindled (given birth), can you safely assume that conception did not take place.
