My babies are 2 and half weeks old and really well. They are giant cross breed and are lovely + chunky except one (runt). She(?) is about half the size but seems bright enough and the others are always with her, giving her middle spot in the bed. She is a little skinny but mums seems to be doing ok. Should she have anything extra when weaned?
thanks
I think the main thing is she not have too much competition for food. Pellets should be her primary source of nutrition as they are concentrated and hay (while excellent as a fiber source), has little in the way of calories. I would give her hay a couple of times/week, but not free choice. Also, I would be VERY sparing on fruits and vegetables. These treats have vitamins and minerals, but LOTS of water and really very few calories.

You also might consider that this little runt could be runty because of an internal defect which prevents her from absorbing all the nutrients from her food. It happens. Also, if you are so inclined, a visit to the vet might reveal and underlying parasitic condition that if treated, might improve her situation. Just a few things to consider.

maybe the runt takes after the smaller rabbit of the parents. (size wise)
