I wanted to know how often should one clip rabbit’s nails for the simple reason that different websites give different views about the subject – some say every other week, others say once a month. But I generally trim them every other week.

Can you please help me to know exactly when one is supposed to clip them?
when ever you think they are getting to sharp
The above comment: \"whenever you think they are getting sharp\", is a good one.

Just like people, rabbits\' nails grow at different rates. Actually, every couple of months is good, but some rabbits may need their nails clipped more often - some less. I think every other week is a bit much, but if your rabbit doesn\'t mind and you aren\'t cutting them so short that they bleed, I don\'t think it matters much.

What matters most is that the nails are not posing a problem for you or your rabbit. Sounds like you have things under control. Smile

I trim mine when I notice they are getting too long. I trimmed two rabbits (out of six) the other day.
I check them every month but only do the ones that HAVE to be done
My vet suggested that i take my rabbit to get this nails done every 3 to 6 months, as each rabbits grow at different rates. I always take him to her and let her do them as my rabbit does not like getting his nails done and panics. It does not cost much to get them trimmed. She also said to be careful when trimming as you could damage the nerve in the nails.
Even if mine don\'t actually \'need\' to be trimmed, I still go through the motions. The more you handle your rabbit the better off you both are.
I take mine out at leat once a week for a \'once over\' and check things out. Making sure they don\'t have a running nose, or sore hocks, or any bumps or cuts...preventive maintenance is the best maintenance.
By doing this I discoverd a worm in my one does neck this summer that was immediately removed and little Goblins sniffles...who is getting better and on the road to recovery. Smile
The more you do have them trimmed the more the quick will recede and make the upkeep on their nails easier in the long run.
