I live in the countryside in southern Spain where the all year round climate is above freezing. I have a two hundred square mitre enclosed run for my chickens and i would like to know if it would be ok to introduce a few rabbits if i put in a seperate hutch for them to retreat to. I have chickens of all different colours (which i keep only for the eggs and as pets) and i\'d like to get a few rabbits of different colours. Would they get on ok together?
On a farm near us, a friend has chickens & rabbits in the same yard. The chickens run free while the rabbits are in hutches. I don\'t know how they would do running free together.
My cousin has an enclousre where she keeps her chickens and she has a few rabbits in there to keep from the winter weather. They seem fine together with some wire between them, but sometimes the rabbit can get fiesty when the chickens are tormenting them, so I\'m not sure how they would react together.
I had a huge barn full of rabbits- used to rotate them by taking them out of their cages and letting them run around when all the doors were shut- had a chicken named Penelope who used the nestboxes to lay her eggs- she loved sitting on the cages- rabbits didn\'t mind her at all- but a free for all- I have my doubts
