i just bought 2 male bunnies a couple weeks ago they are so pretty and lots of fun i was just wondering how hard it is to train them to a litter box they each have there own cage with a litter box in it but there not useing it?? also it looks like they are litter mates and i do put them together so they can have company no problems in fact they love eachother any advice will that change?
It\'s really not too difficult to litter box train a rabbit as they are creatures of habit. There are lots of good books out on the subject.
Even littermates can turn testy towards one another once sexual maturity is reached (which is a pretty young age relatively speaking). This includes sisters. The chances of the rabbits getting along will be much greater if they are neutered.
Good luck.

Try covering their litter box with hay to encourage them to use it. Once they get into the habit of using their litter box, you can try it without the hay, if you don\'t like the idea of dirty hay, or just put some hay on the outside edge of the box.
I was able to keep my rabbits together until they were about 4 months old, and then they had to be seperated. Once they were fixed, I was able to house them together again. Mine are male and female. I did have one other male, and my dominant male started beating on the other male. I never put them together again because one had to be euthanized for unrelated reasons.
Petey took to a litter box in no time. You might want to try a corner litter box--for some reason rabbits like corners. I\'ve read that they prefer to use a litter box so as to keep the smell of their urine in one spot, thus less likely to attract a predator. What kind of bedding are you using in the litter box?
my rabbit took 2 days to train. Put the box in the most used-for-potty corner. that should work. as I said, my rabbit got trained this way fast. DO NOT USE CAT LITTER!!! THAT COULD KILL THEM! use carefresh, yesterdays news or other paper or wood-based litters.
I use \"Critter Litter\" which is recycled paper litter.
