The first litter they were born on friday she had seven but, one died and today we found
they have all passed away. what do you think could of happened?
we think they got too cold or their mother didn\'t know what to do because it was her first litter.
That is too bad. Sad

These things sometimes happen with first-litter does. Did she pull fur and make a good nest? My suspicion is she didn\'t. A poor nest, coupled with the possibility the doe did not feed her young are all possibilities. Sometimes new mothers get in the box and stay with the kits - smothering and crushing them.

If you want to breed the doe again, you might have better luck. If the doe repeats the behavior, I would be inclined not to breed her again.

The first litter has a less survival rate than all other litters. It would more likley die than any other litter.
I\'m so sorry! I\'ve lost babies too and know how you feel.

Please listen to Charlcie\'s advice - she\'s the best.
i know how you feel i lost my first litter ever to a bad momy rabbit she ate hers and i have never cried so much since then i have lost a few but have had good luck with my babys so far good luck with future litters
I would give the doe a few months to mature- put her near a cage with a litter in it if you have other rabbits in your rabbitry that is- then try again- winter breedings are hard- does do best in the Spring!
I am very sorry to hear that. Sad
I just had a litter of 4 stillborn, too. It is very sad to see but maybe the next litter will be the best. I always think that there is a reason behind why things like that happen -and I like to consider that somehow it may be for the best.
My NZ was a first time mom and she raised 6 very well -so maybe yours just wasn\'t ready. So sorry. ((hugs))
Try her again - maybe there was alot of distractions. With a new mom I put them away from all the daily noise and activities. Maybe that would help her relax and let her instincts kick in.
