what can we use to get rid of fur mites
There are several options out there and several \"favorites\" for different people. I personally like to use Ivomec injectable (available at most feed stores or online at Veterinary Supply outlets).

Though this is an injectable, if you are really squeamish, it can be given orally (.01 cc/lb). I actually find a subcutaneous injection (under the loose skin at the nape of the neck to be much easier).

The great thing about Ivomec is that it also attacks internal parasites as well and lasts about 6 weeks. It is a bit expensive if you only have a single bunny, but if you can network with other rabbit friends, perhaps you can share the cost.

Topical powders made for kittens are OK to use. Advantage for cats is also good, but NEVER use Frontline or any flea or tick dip!
