I just bought a Netherland Dwarf yesterday. It is a little girl - I named her Zoe. Can anyone tell me if it means anything when a rabbit has its ears laying close to it\'s head instead of standing straight up? She has regular ears (not a long-eared breed). Could she be cold? She is indoors and always will be. Also, when do rabbits sleep? Are they nocturnal or do they sleep at night? - Thanks.
Zoe is probably still unsure of her surroundings. I\'ve noticed our rabbits do this when they are scared or uncertain of what\'s around them.

As for sleeping, my rabbits sleep at night. Well, mostly at night. Sometimes they get a little active but it\'s usually because the dogs set them off.

Good luck with Zoe.
Netherlands ears always stand straight up if they dont what you bought is not a netherland.I visited 5 pet stores in the pittsburgh area claiming to be selling Netherland dwarfs only one store actually had Netherland dwarfs.Rabbits are more active at night.bluebird
Since mine are more active during the day than at night, could this be because we have an active house during the day? We start in the morning by 6 and are all settled down by 9 at night. And someone is home almost all day. How much do they adapt to their environment in that matter? These rabbits were raised in our home since they were a month old.
