Ok, today was day 31 after mating my rabbits and no kits. Midnight built up the nest box with hay very nicely, but she has not added any fur. Last time, she added the fur only the day before the kits arrived. So, does this mean she wasn\'t pregnant after all? Or could we have another day or two to go? Any input is greatly appreciated.
So any new kits? Waiting for the arrival news ...
I think it\'s a bust. It\'s been 33 days and no sign of kits. I\'m going to wait till Wednesday before we try re-breeding them. But believe me, if anything changes, I\'ll let you know!
I\'m not very familiar with the whole breeding process. How soon after breeding do kits arrive-- 28 days or something?? And what are the odds of a pregnancy?
Minimum time is 28 days, max is supposed to be 32. Last time Midnight was 31 days almost to the hour. The last time I mated them I saw the act completed. This time I left her in his hutch for a few hours while I cleaned up the yard and barn a bit. So I never actually saw them mate. But I figured boy, girl, private time = babies. I was wrong. So we\'ll try again on Wednesday. So hopefully we\'ll have spring babies.
