Petey\'s cage came with a salt and mineral wheels. We have put them around his cage, and I don\'t think I\'ve ever seen him use these. Are they really necessary? He shows no interest, and I\'m wondering if I can put them away!
My rabbits don\'t use them either. His food pellets contain salt so a salt wheel really isn\'t necessary.
Hey its good to see you back posting! Don\'t even tell me if you were enjoying a vacation somewhere warm and sunny!!!
Tx for the info on the salt/mineral wheels. I figure if he doesn\'t have any interest in them, he must not really need them.
I recognize Tasha in the snow picture, but help me out with the other picture you attached.

I wish I were enjoying the good weather. A family member went into the hospital, but all is well now.
The other picture is winter grazing. There is no grass to graze on in the winter, so I put tree branches in their play area. You can see how they have kept busy chewing the bark.
Yep, looks like they\'ve been munching! I\'ve been trying different acceptable twigs and Petey will not eat any other twig except from a certain crab apple tree in my yard. I actually have 3 different crab apples, yet, he will only eat branches from one!
I\'ve tried lilac also and he won\'t touch it. I need to find a willow tree. I hear bunnies like those also. I\'ve seen willow toys and twigs for sale on the internet, but none of the pet stores in the area sell anything like that.
I heard that rabbits like Maple, but mine won\'t touch Maple. I don\'t know how I got so lucky with the lilac.
Salt and mineral wheels are not necessary.they just rust the cage that much faster.bluebird
