I have aquired 3 full grown french lops and would like to know if I can use
1\" X 1\" wire for the flooring.
any other wire just won\'t let the M&M\'s pass through.
I raised Flemish Giants for years and 1 x 1\" wire floors were a must. In my estimation, French Lops have the large foot pads that would benefit by this type of flooring.

The rationale here is that the wider spaced wire offers support but less actual contact with the foot pad itself, decreasing the instance of sore hocks.

One item of note...it is important to have a heavier gauge wire than the standard used in most all-wire cages (16 ga.). 14 ga. minimum is what is needed for these heavier breeds.

Are you planning to breed your French Lops? If so, a word of caution...It is a good idea to cover a good part of the cage floor (especially near the feeder) with another material for the first week or two after the bunnies come out of the nest box to prevent their smaller feet from falling through the larger wire spaces and getting their rear hocks caught, causing injuries.

Will you be selling your bunnies once they are weaned? If so, I am extremely interested. Live in northern NJ and haven\'t found any in the area.
