we have a female rabbit that was given to us about 5 months ago, and we went out and bought a male dwarf bunny about 2 months ago, the female is about 2 years old, we think she might be having bunnies, but not quite sure, we are first time rabbit owners, and we just wanted them for pets, we found what we think is a baby, but it wasnt alive, it was just laying in the cage, and now we have the female away from the male and she is dripping blood. what do we do? help please
Take her to a rabbit savy vet ASAP. She could have stuck kits in her, causing distress. 2 years is a little old to let a rabbit breed like that. You more then likely did find a baby laying the cage. You also need to put a nest box with bedding in it for her. A shoe box stuffed with straw would work alright as a temp box. Just make sure its attached to the side of the cage, so can\'t flip it over.
Pet bunnies should be kept separate, unless they are spayed and neutered. Cause otherwise you\'ll end up with an unwanted, or a surprise litter.
