hi iam a begineer iam getting one shall i put a rabbit in a box ???? because thats all i have and what food can i give rabbits ???
Rabbits eat rabbit pellets. You can get them at your local feedstore. You also need a cage. You can get those at the feedstores, or petstores.
Is your rabbit an indoor or outdoor pet? If you are keeping your rabbit indoors, you will need a cage. I have a wire bottom cage so the droppings, etc. fall through to the pullout tray for easy cleaning. Its healthy for the bunny too. You should have a litter box in your cage because they like to \"go\" in their own spot, kind of like cats do. I use aspen shavings for bedding. The pet store has lots of bedding alternatives. Stay away from Cedar.

Rabbits need lots of hay (Timothy or mixed). Your rabbit can have as much hay as he wants. You might want to check out some earlier posts as to what to feed your bunny since there are some really good ideas. Definitely a good pellet foundation and dark green veggies daily (about 1/2 cup). Carrots are good, apple, banana, celery, dark green lettuce, the leafy parts of most veggies. Treats should be given sparingly--yogurt chips, etc. Also, you\'ll need a water bottle/dish.

Rabbits NEED to chew so provide your bunny with things like toilet paper tubes filled with hay, yellow pages, old junk mail catalogs, etc. Give him/her a box with holes in it for a play house. IF INDOORS, KEEP ALL ELECTRICAL WIRES OUT OF THE WAY. They love to chew them and its obviously very dangerous. Rabbits will chew just about anything so you\'ll need to rabbit proof!

These are just a few tips. Stay tuned in to this Board for more great tips. Read some of the old posts, they are really helpful! Enjoy your bunny.
Hi. I would really watch how you feed your rabbits the veggies. If you chose to feed them, they must be fed in moderation. And never in any large amounts. Personally i stay away from them because they have been known, and proven by arba standards to cause gastronitis in rabbits. If you do decide to feed them, start off very slowly by offering the bunny one green a day. Then slowly increase. Also watch the rabbits droppings. If there are any signs of dihrea then stop feeding them all together. Some rabbits can handle eating veggies. Many others can\'t. And they really don\'t need them anyhow. Although they do make good treats now and then.
Also, some fruits, and veggies tend to be very high in sugar. Which isnt good for the rabbit. So you really gotta watch what you feed.
are apples,bananas,tomatoes,broccli,spinach,grass lettuce ,cabbage

i have a problem can you please answer it well iam getting that rabbit and i have 2 young sisters one is 2years old the other is 4years old iam worried while iam at school because i don\'t have a room and they could hurt it or little go away something like that !! where should i put i can\'t maybe outside because there are alot of kids in our neighbor hood stealing stuff i need good good tips for this PLEASE reply
Dear Loopy...

I suggest zip-ties to lock your cage door if you are very concerned. You can cut them off when you are home, but will have to put on a new one when you are going to be gone.

Question...who is watching your little sisters while you are at school?
