my rabbit has developed a hudge lump on her face and i am wondering what i can do to help her i am pretty sure she has an infection of some kind but i canot afford the vet right now.
Sorry to hear about your bunny. I know very little about rabbit illnesses, but maybe a simple phone call to a vet with your question may help. Does your rabbit act sick?
I had a lop who developed the same symptom and we took him to the vet and it was an abscess which, they explained to me as, a pocket or \"capsule\" of infection. I\'m not saying that is what your bunny has but it\'s just a suggestion.

My rabbit had to have a minor surgery to have the infected area cut open to help the infection ooze out. It was rather expensive also. And my little guy did not like me having to treat the area every day. The vet told me bunny \"pus\" is very thick and is not easy to drain out so we had to literally squeeze the wound area three times a day to help with the drainage. Needless to say, he hated having this done. I was very nervous that it was a tumor so I know what you are going through. I think you should consider seeing a vet to at least find out what is wrong. Maybe they can offer you a payment plan. I know we had to - it was far too expensive to pay that all in one shot. Good luck.

Maybe one of the breeders on here is more familiar with something like this.
What you described sounds like an abscess, but without seeing it first-hand, there is no way to be certain. The possibility exists of a tumor, but I would lean towards abscess.

If you knew for a fact, it was an abscess, it would have to be drained. However, I must tell you that sometimes surgery is still required in order to remove the entire capsule. Treating an abscess can be very nasty business. I know this is not what you want to hear, but I would still recommend a vet. Sad
