my 2yrs,small-ish , Holand lop(5-6lbs) has developed a bald patch on his hea. the patch is between the shoulderbones and the head.

although it has some fur left with some skin howing up, is it a serious matter. should i consult a vet? i want to know what is this.

What happened with you bunny\'s fur? Did you take it to the Vet to have the problem checked out? Just curious...
could be mites...

Are you sure it is not the normal shedding of fur which occurs about every 3 months? My rabbits usually start shedding first from the nape of the neck and then down the length of their back.

Don\'t worry at all even if the problem is with fur mites because fur mites can be treated very easily with Ivermectin. Just place a few drops of this medicine (not injection) around the nape of the rabbit and the problem will clear up. Yes, just once only!! My vet treated my rabbits this way.

Hey-I have the perfect answer!!!!My bunny had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM in the EXACT SAME SPOT!!!I talked to a lady at petco and she recomended mite and flea powder.It went away really fast!!!Talk to someone at your local pet store.IT WORKS!!
