Ok We have a rabbit that had and abcess in her ear.Right in the place that the tatoo was.NOw its distorted and illegible. It was done with a tatoo pen not the needle stamp kind.I really want to show her but cannot for fear of \"tampering/changing\"tatoo issues coming up.ANY SUGGESTIONS ???
I would just touchup the tattoo. When I am at the show table, I hear a lot of, \"Need to retattoo this rabbit\". It has to have a legible tattoo in its ear. If you can\'t touchup the one that it has...just retattoo it in a different spot. I\'ve never had a problem.

That\'s a good question! I have a doe who\'s tattoo is seriously faded, and I wondered as well.

I am not trying to take over your post, I was just wondering...someone \"helped\" me tattoo a bunch of bunnies and mixed up some \"M\'s\" with \"W\'s\"...is there any way to fix that?? Thats so frustrating. And they did test it on cardboard too! For example, I have a doe (named Makara), with an ear # of WAK (supposed to be MAK!) lol

As well on one of my bucks, he went too high and the first letter is partially on the fold of his ear (poor bugger) so I have NO idea where I am going to put it! Do I just go further back in to the ear and down from the rest of the letters?

Thanks so much!
Andrea
There is nothing you can do to fix the \"M\" and the \"W\". I would just leave it alone. I would ask a judge about the other tattoo in the fold of the ear. I don\'t want to tell you to add the letter when you shouldn\'t. Would need to see it to give you an answer.

Hi!

I was just reading in my lop book and it states..... \"Tatoo numbers must be ligible if the Lop is to be shown. A hand needle for touch up can be used should the ear number be illegible. A Registrar will often have such a tool and for a nominal fee, will be more than happy to correct an unreadable tatoo\". By Sandy cook of THF Publications, Inc. It also says to check the ARBA to find a registrar in your area or one that will be at a show coming to your area. Hope that helps!
