I am a first time mom to a new bunny. He is the most adorable baby I\'ve ever seen. I\'ve owned cats, dogs, fish, hamsters, but I\'m soooo in love with Midnight (so named because he\'s all white). Just a couple questions. How do I find out what kind of bunny I have? I was told when I bought him that he was a dwarf rabbit and that he won\'t get much bigger than he already is. Midnight is all white, tall ears and pink eyes. My second question is about his ears. We\'ve had Midnight for about two weeks, up until 2 days ago both his ears stood straight up except when he was sleeping. Now one of his ears is laying over. Is this normal? Or is he getting sick or I\'m failing to provide him with something he needs?

Midnight is just another member of our family - very spoiled! It\'s so exciting to come into the room and have him run up to greet you, hoping you\'ll give him another snack to chew on or wanting you to snuggle with him. I don\'t know why I didn\'t get one years ago.

PS: I still have a cat. Midnight doesn\'t seem to be afraid of her, but I\'m afraid to let them try to get acquainted. My cat can sit and watch the bunny for hours, but if the bunny disappears behind something, the cat immediately get down from it\'s perch and runs to the last spot she saw him. My cat is declawed - but still has teeth. So we don\'t allow the two of them in the same room unsupervised.
Do you have a picture of Midnight you can upload? I wouldn\'t worry too much about the ears. Midnight could be a Holland Lop or Lop cross of some kind, in which case the lopping ears are perfectly normal. (The fact that you said his ears are \'tall\' leaves me to believe that he really isn\'t a Dwarf - namely Netherland Dwarf. (Their ears are fairly short.)

Even if he\'s not a true Lop breed, I still wouldn\'t worry about the ears. Lopping ears occur because of a weakness of the cartilage at the base of the ear. It is a heredity issue - not related to health. Whether Midnight\'s ears stay erect or lop, he\'ll still be a great pet.

Keep up the supervised visits between Midnight and your cat. Smile

If you could post a picture of your bunny we could guess what kind it is.what you may have is a dwarf lop or the correct name is holland lop. They are bigger than Netherland dwarfs and may get up to 4 lbs.bluebird, heres a picture of a netherlanf dwarf.
