Sounds like her hormones, which kick in the territorial response, are active. She is just trying to let you know that even though it\'s feeding time, her cage is still her territory.
Have you thought about having your bunny spayed?

Thank you for your knowledge! I was told she is spayed when I adopted her. Do you think the grunting is an indication she is not really spayed?

Your bunny could in fact be spayed, but still have strong territorial instincts. Those are usually much stronger in an unspayed animal, but can still be evident if she had had the procedure, especially if the procedure was done later rather than sooner.
How old is your bunny? Do you know how old she was when she was spayed? I wouldn\'t be too concerned with her \'grunting\' at you, unless she became agressive.
