When I got up this morning my 13 week old rabbit had an area on the white part of his eye that had a red line and a small raised area. Do you think that maybe his eye got scratched? I\'ve only had him for 2 weeks so I don\'t know a lot about rabbit medical problems. I\'m very worried and I think I\'m going to take him to the vet tommorow...Only problem is that my husband doesn\'t think it\'s a big deal and I don\'t drive but he does. How serious do you think this is??? Should I insist on going???

It does sound like a scratch on Butternut\'s eye, but it would be impossible to be sure without being able to look at it. I recommend seeing a vet, but if your husband doesn\'t want to do that, You should get some opthalmic ointment. A good one is Terramycin® Eye Ointment with Polymyxin B. You can get it at most vet supply stores. Treatment 2-4 times/day for 3 or 4 days should clear up a problem.
